News Suzuki splash wows crowd at Paris Motor Show.

The Suzuki Splash concept car shares some of the styling imagination of the remarkably successful production Swift model.

Unveiled at the recent Paris International Motor Show as the centrepiece on the Suzuki stand, the Splash is under evaluation for production.

Suzuki is asking people what they think of the chic multipurpose vehicle, and the findings will determine whether or not the car is put into volume production.

Project Splash is a clinic model based on the latest Swift, which has been breaking world sales records for Suzuki.
With spectacular styling and a user-friendly interior, the 3,780mm long Splash five-door makes a bold statement and wowed the crowds at the Paris show.

Apart from a relatively tall body measuring 1,650mm, the Splash has similar dimensions to the compact Swift. The concept show model sits on a wheelbase of 2,380mm and is 1,780mm wide.
Capable of seating five adults, this funky car boasts a distinctive grille, neat profile, a full glass roof, bulging wheel arches and eye-catching headlights.
Appropriately finished in blue, the super-mini MPV Splash has a simple yet stylish dashboard design with bold instrumentation and blue lighting.

Suzuki describes the model as being “a car for everybody” with fine handling and long-distance cruising comfort.
It is powered by a newly developed 1.2 litre, 16-valve four cylinder engine, driving through a four-speed automatic transmission.
“Our goal is a car for all people, young and senior, male and female, single, couples and families in every driving situation, whether it’s a short shopping trip in town or a long excursion,” said Toshiro Suzuki, Executive Director of Automobile Engineering for the Suzuki Motor Corporation.
He said the Splash brought together three important attributes, including driveability.
By sharing the platform with the Swift, the clinic car was fun to drive around town and over long distances, said the Suzuki Executive.

“The second attribute is interior comfort. We have given Project Splash a relatively tall body, so there’s plenty of relaxing comfort to go along with the relaxing driveability,” said Mr Suzuki.
The third attribute is a modern, contemporary interior, packed with innovative equipment and a multi-display to assist the driver.
Although the Splash is still at the clinic stage, Suzuki says if the design receives widespread support, the company will turn the vehicle into a production model, just as the Concept S car became the Swift.
