Find your Soul at NMG Kia

The long and anticipated wait is over as the Kia Soul arrives into NMG Kia’s showroom this weekend and will also be on display at the Castle Mall shopping precinct from Monday 23rd February 2009 for one week in the run up to the new number plate change on March 1st. The convention-busting Soul is Kia’s most significant model yet, and is now available in Norwich.

Defying classification and traditional appeal, the Soul provides a stylish yet flexible alternative for Norwich motorists who want the opportunity to go against established trends at a time when global economic doom-mongers are urging consolidation and conservatism.

Paul Hewitt, Sales Director at NMG Kia explains the enthusiasm for the Soul: “We’re very excited to be receiving Soul into our showroom; it’s the perfect response for those who want to lift their spirits and turn heads at the same time. The blend of innovative design and individuality will not come at premium prices, and will provide Norwich locals with a car that has real personality.”

Developed under the leadership of Chief Design Officer Peter Schreyer, the compact yet capacious Soul builds on Kia’s traditional virtues of both quality and value, and appeals to anyone with a more rebellious nature. Soul has the aggressive and stylish appearance of a much larger 4x4-type vehicle but its 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engine options, developed from the units available in Kia’s cee’d family, will deliver excellent fuel economy and low running-costs.

All Kia Soul cars are fitted with six airbags, four disc brakes and ESP (Electronic Stability Programme) as standard. Soul is also equipped with a factory-fit RDS radio/CD player with MP3 compatibility, plus six audio speakers, a 112 watts output, innovative PowerBass technology and a roof-top antenna. An upgraded sound system – complete with ‘Sound Sensitive Mood Lighting’, a 315 watts output, a large dash-top centre speaker, external amplifier and a sub-woofer in the trunk for a total of eight speakers – is one of the many options Soul owners can choose to make their car stand out from the rest.

KIA NOSE BEST

Kia Motors has become a supporting partner of Red Nose Day 2009 and has even introduced a limited edition Picanto Red to mark the occasion and help raise as much money as possible for Comic Relief।
The limited edition Picanto ‘Red’ is on sale now and, for every model sold between now and Red Nose Day on Friday March 13, Kia will donate £100 to Comic Relief - enough to send two Zambian children to school for a whole year.
Joining the ranks of other big Red Nose Day partners, Kia aims to get all its customers and employees involved to raise as much money as possible this Red Nose Day, March 13.
Kia is encouraging each and every customer to ‘show us their nose’ by asking customers to buy a Car Nose from their local Sainsbury’s or at http://www.rednoseday.com/. All they have to do then is pop it on their Kia and upload their picture of their car wearing it to Kia’s special website dedicated to Red Nose Day – www.kia.co.uk/rednoseday. And if they register their details on the site they can enter a prize draw to win a limited edition Picanto Red made especially to celebrate Red Nose Day.
In addition, Kia dealerships up and down the country will be introducing all sorts of activities from comedy nights, family fun days and sponsored car washes – and anything else to ‘Do Something Funny For Money’!
Speaking from his bath of baked beans, Paul Philpott, Managing Director of Kia Motors (UK) Limited said; “We are exceptionally proud to be involved with the great work of Comic Relief and it gives us the opportunity to give something back. We aim to get all our employees, dealers and customers involved to raise as much money as we can. As always, we’ve set ourselves an ambitious goal but I’m confident we can achieve our fundraising target of raising a minimum of £100,000.”
In 2007 Red Nose Day raised nearly £68 million – their best year yet. To beat that record and get involved in 2009 visit http://www.rednoseday.com/.

Kia Soul sees final development in the UK

The new Kia Soul, on sale in the UK at the beginning of March 2009, is the first Kia to have been developed specifically with UK roads and drivers in mind.
Detailed work to create a bespoke ride and handling package was completed by Lotus, the renowned automotive consultancy, based in Norfolk, East Anglia.
Kia Soul has been secretly on test in the UK during late 2008 and the constant evaluation has been fed back to the factory in Korea as well as the research and development teams in Europe.
The work undertaken by Lotus on the ride and handing package has resulted in changes to the overall suspension settings and bump stops. These changes have allowed the Soul to become more compliant with UK roads, adding a touch more refinement to the ride, yet allowing the dampers to do more "work" under the chassis.
The result is that the Kia Soul is now one of the most complete cars Kia has ever produced as it is available with specific suspension packages for Europe, the US and UK.
Paul Philpott, Managing Director, Kia Motors UK Ltd., said: "Soul is a very exciting product for Kia and for our customers. It has a unique look and style and will bring something fresh to the UK market with several innovations. We firmly believe that customers who have never considered a Kia before will look at Soul and see it as a viable option when it comes to buying a new car."
Philpott added; "The result of our partnership with Lotus is a more composed ride which we think is much more suitable to what our roads can throw at Soul, and additionally, it is also a more exciting car to drive."
