NMG Wymondham and District Table Tennis League
Following on from Team GB's success in Table Tennis at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, where we took 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze medals, I am delighted to announce that NMG has agreed a year's sponsorship of a local league. The league will be renamed to NMG Wymondham & District Table Tennis League for the forthcoming season.
NMG has sponsored the league and two principal tournaments. This will give us a new opportunity to be seen by a new target audience. Stuart Laws, Dave and Sue Simpson (all League Committee members) are NMG Kia customers, hence they approached the business for help and we in turn are pleased to support with reciprocal sponsorship. The league handbook will also be branded with NMG and the press releases and League tables will feature the NMG name and logo.
Here is a little insight about the League from one of their committee, himself a qualified TT coach, Stuart Laws:
The Wymondham & District Table Tennis League has been affiliated to the English Table Tennis League since 1950. The leagues mandate is to provide friendly competitive Table Tennis to as wide a range of people as is possible.
We are always looking for new players at all levels - from absolute beginners to County players, from age 8 to 90 (it really is an all-inclusive sport!). Season starts in September and new teams will be more than welcome. We also run a thriving Summer League. We also play interleague matches against Norwich, Fakenham, North Walsham, Kings Lynn, Diss and Great Yarmouth.
Coaching sessions are run at both Ketts Park (Friday nights, September through to June - call Ian Scales on 01953 602180 if you have any queries) and Watton Leisure Centre (every Wednesday evening - call Dave Attridge 01760 336616) with qualified coaches at both. New members will always be welcome at both, whatever the standard. You can find out more about the League and membership at: http://www.freewebs.com/wymondhamleague/ (this web is being updated to NMG)
This is a fast, dynamic, fun packed sport, which requires good eye to hand co-ordination, a degree of fitness and is simply a great workout. Not everyone expects to be a Champion, but you won't know until you get involved.
NMG wishes the League, all its teams and members every success in the coming season.
