Norfolk Motor Group with Wroxham Bure Valley Rotary Club puts Mr John Beck in the Rio SR7 driving seat.
One lucky driver was shocked when his phone rang last Sunday afternoon live on Radio Heart from the Castle Mall, Norwich, to be told "Hello, is that Mr John Beck, you are the winner of a brand new Kia Rio SR7, as your ticket has just been drawn in the Rotary Prize Draw". At first, as you would, Mr Beck thought it was a windup, or someone trying to sell him something. When he realised it was genuine, he could not believe his luck.
When he visited the NMG showroom on the Monday morning to look at the Rio he had won, he told Managing Director of NMG Grant Long. "Only that morning we were discussing how nice it would be to win the lottery, having never won anything in my life, then I got this call, I simply couldn't believe it and I am still in a state of shock".
Kia dealer Norfolk Motor Group were delighted to partner Wroxham Bure Valley Rotary Club in their 2016 Summer project to raise much needed donations for three fabulous local charities, East Anglian Air Ambulance, EACH Children's Hospice NOOK Appeal and the End Polio Now campaign.
NMG agreed to help Rotary when approached by Rotary member and NMG Kia customer Paul Corfield, who had been charged with raising support for their quest, by supporting the vehicle price with assistance from Kia Motors. NMG also purchased a lottery ticket for every customer who bought a car from NMG whilst the promotion ran. Mr Beck was not an NMG customer before this, but was clearly delighted with his new Rio SR7, it is even in Norwich City Canary Yellow.
Whilst the exact total of money raised is yet to be confirmed, Rotary exceeded their target and their expectations much to the delight of the President Rosemary Youngs, Paul and the committee, it looks as though the three charities will receive a lovely Christmas Box very shortly.
At the Grand Reveal and Driveaway on Friday 25th November, Mr Beck and his partner were given a champagne send off by members of the Rotary Club, East Anglian Air Ambulance, and NMG staff.
